STEM in Schools Workshop

Communications Program

Lead fun science experiments and engage students with exciting STEM topics during scheduled school visits. Great for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy working with kids and making science come alive!

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per visit (monthly or as scheduled)

Next Time and Place:

Legislation Program

Work directly on drafting legislation and creating talking points to support STEM and education-related initiatives. Volunteers will accompany our team to city hall to present proposals and advocate for change

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Location: Hybrid

Legal Team

Collaborate with city council representatives to review local codes and policies, identifying areas for improvement and reform. Legal volunteers are also responsible for filing our annual 501(c)(3) and incorporation paperwork

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Location: Hybrid

Outreach Team

Help us expand our reach by contacting elementary schools across Washington. Volunteers will maintain and update a contact list of schools and serve as the first point of contact for new partnerships

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Location: Remote

Partnership Team

Build lasting relationships with afterschool daycare programs like the Boys & Girls Club. Volunteers will schedule monthly events, manage volunteer availability, and ensure a smooth experience for both partners and team members

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Location: Mostly Remote

Press Release Team

Amplify our impact by connecting with local and national media outlets. Volunteers will write press releases, pitch stories, and follow up with journalists. We’ve already been featured in the Seattle Times and KOMO News—help us reach even more communities!

Time Commitment: Flexible

Location: Remote

Finance Team

Drive our funding efforts by applying for grants, organizing fundraisers, and overseeing our budget. Volunteers will play a critical role in deciding how and where our resources are used to maximize impact

Time Commitment: 2-5  hours per week
