Math III (IMT 1 + IMT 2)

Our Math III course is a comprehensive course designed to prepare students for Algebra I and Algebra II. IMT 1  mathematics includes a study of the concepts and skills associated with the understanding of numbers, the place-value system, the basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and operations with decimals and fractions. The IMT 2 curriculum focuses on three critical areas: formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships, analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angle, similarity, and congruence. This course has an array of tests and quizzes to evaluate student performance, accordingly instructors may also assign homework based on class progress. Our course is divided into 7 main units, which are listed below:

UNIT 1 - Numbers and Operations (Review)

UNIT 2 - Multi-digit and Fractional Computation

UNIT 3 - Proportionality

UNIT 4 - Expressions, Equations, and Relationships

UNIT 5 - Inequalities

UNIT 6 - Measurement and Data

UNIT 7 - Probability and Statistics

Algebra 1

Our Algebra 1 course is a comprehensive course designed to prepare students for Algebra II. Algebra 1 is the foundation for high school mathematics. Throughout the course we will be focusing on topics such as, (but not limited to), relationship between quantities, linear relationships, exponential and quadratic relationships, advanced functions and equations, and data analysis. We will be using various strategies to engage students in problem solving and reasoning. This course has an array of tests and quizzes to evaluate student performance, accordingly instructors may also assign homework based on class progress. Our course is divided into 9 main units, which are listed below:

UNIT 1 - Variables and Equations

UNIT 2 - Solving Inequalities

UNIT 3 - Functions

UNIT 4 - Graphing Linear Equation

UNIT 5 - Graphing Non-linear Equation and Inequalities

UNIT 6 - Polynomials

UNIT 7 - Quadratic Equations

UNIT 8 - Radicals and Exponents

UNIT 9 - Basic Trigonometry * [may not be covered]
